We want to gently clarify that Women & Family Life Center is not a residential shelterand does not provide emergency housing or overnight stays. We understand that online searches can sometimes be confusing, and we’re sorry for any frustration that may cause.
While we don’t have beds or on-site housing, we can help connect you to trusted resources and support services in the community.

At Women & Family Life Center, we understand that life can bring unexpected challenges — whether you’re coping with the loss of a home, navigating a divorce, leaving an abusive relationship, facing mental health struggles, or searching for a job. Whatever you’re going through, you don’t have to face it alone.
We’re here to provide a safe and supportive space where you can access the resources, education, and community connections you need to rebuild your confidence and create a fresh start. Every day, we walk alongside women and families who might otherwise have nowhere else to turn — and together, we help them move forward.
To access our services, we ask that all participants complete a brief intake process with one of our Referral Navigators. This helps us get to know you and your needs, and it also allows us to collect important information required by our grant funders. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation — it helps us keep our programs free and accessible to everyone.

Spring Programming at W&FLC
Beginning in May, we’re launching a NEW ongoing Caregiver Support Group, led by Dr. Margo Merin, DSW. This monthly group offers a space for those caring for loved ones to connect, share honestly, and feel a little less alone in something that can be overwhelming. And that’s just one piece of what’s happening.

From one-on-one support to workshops and groups, everything we do is designed to meet people where they are, with guidance, resources, and a community that shows up.
We’re also working on some new, fun, and engaging fundraising events, the kind that bring people together while supporting the work happening here every day.

Birdies for Charity is back, and this is one of the easiest ways to make your support go further.
Women & Family Life Center is proud to be part of the 2026 program. Birdies for Charity, connected to the Travelers Championship, helps nonprofits raise critical funding while adding a bonus to every donation.
Thanks to the generosity of Webster Bank and Aetna, every gift receives a 15% bonus, increasing the impact of every dollar given.
